Today a Philadelphia court dismissed all charges against Phillips Black client Chris Powell. Mr. Powell was a 17 year old high school student when he was wrongfully arrested with three other innocent people. Today, at the age of 37, he finally received justice.

In June, we launched a writing contest for incarcerated people in PA in honor of our friend and colleague, Marco. The prompt was: Describe what legal representation means to you. After receiving more than 85 impassioned submissions, the winners were announced on Nov. 18, Marco’s release date.

He spent his time working and helping others who were incarcerated with their legal work. His father, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews have stood by his side for decades and are eager to have him back home.
