I do like the concept of a wide zoom, I must say.

That’s a 14-24mm though…not a 16mm 🤷🏼‍♂️

Universal? I think it’s quite limiting, to be honest.

My first shot with any lens is the 'kitchen shot' - gives me an idea of perspective and distortion. This lens, at £250, is surprisingly good. There some barrel distortion there, but nothing terrible. Remember the cheap super wides from even 10 years ago? 😳

I've had occasions where I want to convey the enormity of the seascape or get into a corner and give a scale of the deck space, but even a 24mm hasn't been wide enough. I know it's difficult to use a lens this wide and not get an overly stylised action cam type view, but I'll give it a go.

I’m not sure tbh, but from the few test shots I’ve done, distortion doesn’t seem to be too bad, considering it’s a £250 lens.

Excuse me?

There’s a ‘Golden Hour’ of sorts on the trains when the ambient light outside balances with the artificial lights in the carriages and you get lots of interesting reflections. Although they’ve just introduced new trains with tinted windows and the effect isn’t as good 😞

That’s not actually a double exposure, but thank you! 🙏 😊 It’s taken from the front window of the train, going into the station, the upper right (which looks like a double exposure) is actually a reflection on the window from behind me.
