The kids were playing with my genbakantoku today, gleefully snapping and flashing in each others faces... Didn't realize there was film in there til I heard the rewind motor 😂 lets see if there's anything worthwhile on this one. I have no idea when I loaded it.

Had to bring a few extra things for the office today, and when we prepared to leave our son asks "are you going on an airplane?"

Had a few hours to ourselves so we stopped by one of my old favourites in Shinjuku, Sangokuichi. The area was super crowded so I was really surprised they didn't have a line! The salad Udon still hits the spot.

So since they pulled paw patrol off of Netflix and put it on @paramountplus.com where it doesn't have German audio anymore, we picked up some DVDs while back in Austria. At least Japan has the same region code right? Well guess how many of these disks my player will read.

Just randomly found a category that I never thought about but makes a lot of sense - CD drives that connect to a smartphone via WiFi and convert CDs without a PC (which a lot of Japanese people don't own). Would've loved to own one of these when I was going to indie shows frequently!

Randomly remembered I had a black panther Lego set my best friend gifted me when I was in Vienna, so we started building it (the kids know BP from the Spidey cartoon).

Off to the airport we go. Shanghai has been swell. I'm so thankful for translation apps, the level of basic English among service staff here remains incredibly low.
Thought I might pop by Yu garden yesterday but opted for dinner with friends instead. Can't complain.

Found our daughter playing with this today, and wondered when she will understand what it is... It belonged to her great-grandmother, and once housed needles, in a darker time long long ago. Maybe I'll try to get rid of the rust and paint it a color she likes.

Hoo boy. I'm looking forward to doing some equipment closeups in Shanghai... (I *think* the first one was a different lens, so the Voigtlander one did better than the Sigma.) 100% on the a7c is 66% on the R btw.

Did a bit of comparison with the a7riv today and... Just realized I shot all of them in jpg 😂 judging from the back monitor my a7cii might be in trouble, these look crazy good...
