Whether by design or happenstance, this is a v sensible move by the Trump lot. Prolongs Putin’s war troubles and provides uncertainty about his attitude to Ukraine. Now Trump just
needs to keep up some support for Ukraine.

Striking that Trump’s latest bout of aggression takes in (only) the the western hemisphere, sphere of influence where the US is lucky to have almost complete freedom of action. Easier too than fixing eg Ukraine, Middle East or Taiwan. Might this be a prelude to a deal with China?
