Several Common carder today in Leechwell Garden on winter honeysuckle, also marmalade hoverfly

Some may set up winter nests if there are enough flowers. Down here mahonia, bergenia, winter honeysuckle and rosemary are good supports for these bumblebees.

Sorry but I cant really see enough to identify the species. It does seem to have a long tongue.

Thanks @abrackenbury.bsky.social , pleased you liked the post. Ever since I first spotted an ivy bee some years ago, the species has been an autumn highlight for me. Their season seemed rather short this year.
