“We are all visitors to this time, this place. We are just passing through. Our purpose here is to observe, to learn, to grow, to love... and then we return home”
I agree with you it was our first comment among our family as we watched it. How could other colleagues, homologues, and “men” just stand there as this happened? Trump’s a fucking dick, he wouldn’t survive ten minutes in the real world. Why do we accept this sort of behaviour from rich men?

If an immigrant comes to Canada, they should understand our system of government (it is what has made Canada a stable democracy) and respect it.

You don't need any "connection" to the monarch to understand and respect our head of state.

Canada became an "answer" to the American Revolution. We are a country in a constant state of evolution with the monarchy rather than "revolution".

In light of the USA's current threats it MAKES SO MUCH SENSE for the King to come here at this time. The Native people understand that. You should too

Why did French Canadians not want to join the American Revolution against the British King? Because the Crown had given us all of the freedoms we needed to develop as a nation and we did not want to become a minority in the USA. Together, Loyalists and "Quebecers" built this great country.

Just after the conquest of Canada (by the British), Canadians (present-day French Canadians) were granted sweeping rights under the Quebec Act. A few years later a wave of Loyalists fled to Canada from the USA. The Americans invaded Canada expecting us to join their revolution. We said "no thanks".

You have such a beautiful mind and a breathtakingly elegant way of thinking.

Deep admiration.

Aside from learning that he has a brilliant sense of humour, we’ve also learned that emotions run on the surface of his skin. When he discusses people suffering, he always chokes just a little. I’ve seen it in Sudbury when he acknowledged the death of a young man in that community and again today.

I deeply respect (and admire) the stamina of any person who can live on the go for so many days in a row. I just can't imagine how many bad sandwiches, early mornings and late nights a campaign like this represents on a human level for a man like Mark Carney.

Well done Mr. Carney!
