Does that akso mean that Russia won't be exporting sulfuric acid to Kazakhstan? The stuff is used for the extraction of uranium using the in situ leaching technique and is already in short supply. If it is not shipped, almost half of the world's uranium production is in jeopardy.

There might be some truth to it. The future of Russia is so uncertain that if I had money, I would probably hold to it. Not that so many Russians actually have money, but you get the drift. But that kind of savings by lack of confidence also leads to recession.

Given the political situation, it's no surprise to see them planning to go underground.

It probably is one these massive siberian boars, which are becoming an invasive species everywhere in the US. They're big and often agressive.

Congratulations for your points, but I think these is serious issue here: the Russians are in such a precarious situation that some have to eat plagued groundhogs to survive. How impoverished is Buryatia due to the war?

The movie seems to be very loosely based on Annie Jacobsen's book Nuclear War: A scenario. Denis Villeneuve is supposedly working on a film adaptation due for the end of 2026. Any news of this, and was it lost to the sands of Dune 3?

You should really tally up your points and publish a revised list highlighting all your predictions that came true.

(And then they'll offer you a job as a psychic in Russia).

Meanwhile, Russians know how to live 12 more days: that's their average lifespan if they end up in the assault units after they sign a contract with the army.

Declining vodka production? That's really the end for Russia. And it will get worse.

They would use a potato cannon, but alas potatoes are in short supply.
October 6, 2025 at 10:46 PM
Very well observed. Either you'll get points, or it will get worse.
October 6, 2025 at 10:42 PM
We might be reaching peak nuclear fluff.

I discussed your Climate Reset essay this morning on radio in Québec City. It's in French, I don't know if you understand it or if you can get some AI translation.

With some "well trained" dancing dogs. Thanks for the compilation - and the laughs. It has already gotten worse.

The thing is, Rosatom just promised to build four nuclear plants in Iran and aven if the customer foots the entire bill, I wonder if Rosatom still has the resources and the supply chain to deliver.
September 27, 2025 at 2:20 AM
Thank you very much. Anything specific about their debt and such?
September 27, 2025 at 2:17 AM
@prune602.bsky.social , what do we know about the financial situationof Rosatom? Can they really afford to build new nuclear facilities in Iran? I believe that can't even afford their project in Turkey, right?

That's an otterworldly strategy.

They're being replaced at a "falling" rate. 😜
September 19, 2025 at 1:50 PM
It's a large improvement as far as risks of window falls are concerned.
September 17, 2025 at 10:30 PM
I just read your piece. Very provocative, but I agree with most of it, especially with the general idea that trying to be perfect is often in the way of making large improvements right now. Climate politics also need reframing, too many principes were set too long ago, while science evolved.

Actually, the waste issue with SMRs is so acute that just building them is wasteful. You don't even have to load them with fuel. 😜
