Hi Philip, a video I just watched about your series by Exits Explained mentioned you had originally planned for Fever Crumb to contain more books. Is this true, and what would have been covered in the missing book?

I have them too, I was thinking more of my Classics students. This price would have been a slightly better for them, but what can you do 🤷‍♂️

Damn, I was searching the comments for this. I’m also in NZ and was really hoping it would be available here!

DCC is the same length, is it not? Once Red Rising’s 7th book comes out this year.

Love the idea of alien technology in a medieval setting! 👽 🏰

I’m reading Thunder City as we speak! Definitely more Mortal Engines than Fever Crumb, but still a wonderful book. I’ll keep praying for more on the Scriven at some point in my life🤞

Thanks! I’m querying within the week, so I’m hoping it’ll be up the literary agent’s alley too 🤞

Thank you Emily Rodda, Paul Stewart and Chris Riddell, @thecallya.bsky.social and @dennisetaylor.bsky.social. Your books have all inspired me in many ways!

They do and they’re amazing. Ron Haddrick (RIP) did such a wonderful job, and they’re each between 3 and 4 hours long. Once you start, you may never go back 👀

Have you read Rowan of Rin? I would argue it’s close to the same level as DQ!
January 13, 2025 at 9:17 PM
As somebody who is currently listening to DQ2: Shadowlands for the billionth time, I approve!

If you haven’t yet read The Edge Chronicles, I cannot recommend it enough. It’s a long series, but well worth it.

Deltora Quest and Rowan of Rin being two of the greatest MG fantasy series will ALWAYS be a hill that I’m prepared to die on!

Great question! A lot of them stem from things I’d like to have read myself, in another world. Part of them also come from books, movies, tv shows, and games that I become inspired by, wanting to take small pieces of them for myself to create something new!

Has this already been claimed?

How did you get in contact with him?? I’ve been trying to find a way to commission him for ages!
December 4, 2024 at 6:00 PM
I didn’t even know this was coming!! Would you ever revisit Fever Crumb’s era?

Finally read this! Was great to read a sci-fi book set in New Zealand 🛸
