Father with favourite uncle Jack Wilkinson. Served in Royal Navy on armed merchantmen. Survived three sinkings including Patroclus - Laurentic. Returned from his mother's funeral to be bombed to smithereens in barracks at Devonport 21/4/1941 aged 22.

Alan had a PSA of over 300 and was passing blood before he was diagnosed. His predicament stirred my father to get tested. He was found to be 16 and got radium treatment at the Christie in Manchester, 18 years later he is still alive and 92.

This looks like the train I saw pass between Skelmersdale and Ormskirk for the last time. It must have run from St Helens or Widnes. This is shot at Crank just south of Rainford. Great Aunt Ellen's husband Bill Meadows was signalman here and at Randall Jc where this train would have gone straight on
