In today's news, I've been asked to join Kickstarter's Community Advisory Council. I said yes. I'm making it my job to advocate for indie creators (regardless of industry) and do what I can push for tools that will help the small guys.

Samples of my new board book RPG, Dank & Dark, have landed and look incredible! We'll have the entire print run in a few months, after the books finish swimming across the ocean.

I decided to post this as stock art at DriveThruRPG. Pay what you want, as little as $0. I created the line art in Procreate, printed it, painted over it, then took it back into Procreate for more digital work. You can find this and more of my work at

I've been slowly reminding myself how to create art. Still refining things because I don't think I've touched a brush in twenty years. #art #transformers #watercolor #mixedmedia

The more I use Procreate, the more I wish I'd given it serious attention several years ago. It is a fantastic tool.

(Though I still haven't wrapped my brain around the fact that I can enlarge an image 2x and the printout is still sharp.)

Painted digitally and then printed on two 10" x 20" canvases.

My weekend project. I drew the line work on the iPad in Procreate, printed that at a larger size, tore up copies and reassembled. Then used comic pages, newspaper elements, a patent, watercolors, acrylics, tape, and spray paint on the 14x18 board before adhering the line art and painting it.

I am really enjoying Procreate.

Been taking more time for art lately. Procreate is awesome. I never understood how good it was.

And yes, it is real.

A little scribbling on the iPad this afternoon.

When you can't sleep and have no intelligence, scribbling on the iPad is one way to zone out.

This is exactly why I shouldn't be allowed near anything.

It is always fun to poke through newspaper archives.

Someone fire up the time machine! We're heading to 1980.

I've been working at vs. Vampires and this weekend is the push to wrap up the last bits before moving to edits. I always work visually, building everything and writing to the design, so what you see here could change dramatically before I finish. Everything is fluid at this stage.

If we peek at the book's very last page, we find the surprise:

This is a print-on-demand book. I have no idea what happened to lead us to the place, but the Time Magazine Dungeons & Dragons special is on Amazon as a print-on-demand book.

The colors and paper quality are great. Not exactly slick, glossy paper like we often encounter in magazines, but a durable and attractive paper that looks great. Truly, I am very happy with the paper and colors. Which may sound weird, but I have my reasons to call this out.

I never did see the Time Dungeons & Dragons special in stores, so I ordered a copy the instant I spotted it on Amazon.

I was not prepared for what I discovered when I opened the book/magazine? (I'm going with book.)
