And the distances between things is increased to make room for all the road space

Per other's reporting, this isn't opening-day jitters primarily, it's the result of operational decisions made by the TTC (which means it's also not Doug Ford's fault.)

Yeah of course, but I can't think of a better explanation for problems like stop spacing in a new build. The people who created this plan cared about something, certainly. Equity, aesthetics, but apparently not speed.

We've got plenty of experience with trams, maybe less than some but enough. The only explanation is apathetic leadership.

It's confusing but they are now C-3PO-D2 and R2-3PO-D2

And unfortunately people still seem to think the problem isn't lack of supply or excessive fees and red tape but rather greedy developers. Which is why Ford keeps getting away with his incompetence.

Yeah I was being a little tongue in cheek, my actual opinion is that a solution involves actually taking the problem seriously and not just looking at it, as the Dems seem to be, as a normal swing of the political pendulum. Dictatorship isn't another political wedge issue.

Switch to a parliamentary system with a figurehead as executive.

Canada's high speed rail plan includes all the places currently served by rail: Vancouver, Halifax, Prince Rupert, Hay River (might as well extend up to Yellowknife), Churchill, Moosonee. Also create charter cities out of Toronto and Vancouver are now charter but with a builders remedy.

This obviously needs to be extended to moosonee, Laborador city and Goose Bay.

And then after you introduce New Dollar suddenly go out with Dollar Classic, kill New Dollar and try to pretend it never existed.

Suddenly private spas on the waterfront are ok, need to update my talking points.

That's actually Toronto's slogan : partially open transit hub

Marx was similarly anti -urban although it wasn't a really key part of his philosophy so people don't talk about it much.

Skydome used to be surrounded by parking too. The problem with BMO Field is that the giant parking lot is owned by the city and, unlike private lots downtown, isn't susceptible to market forces.
November 2, 2025 at 8:23 PM
Toronto also has a ridiculous parking lot ripe for development right beside a downtown stadium - BMO Field. We could be learning from ourselves...

Hypothetically what if your situation has got better does this make it ok?

Even under ideal conditions the streetcars seem to suffer from what seems to be apathy. TTC management not bothering to maintain the level of service it did in the past for no particular reason. Read this , explain it if you can

If the dodgers won't go away easy they shouldn't have called themselves dodgers.

We know how, so now let's do exhibition place and BMO Field
