The scene at Dallas' White Rock Lake on July 4, 1946, back when you could still swim in it. Everybody looks to be having a great time ... and why not? The war was over, the U.S. won, things were looking up, and we were embarking on a period of great economic expansion. I can almost feel that vibe.
