I predict that this will go swimmingly - for Sen. Kelly.

This is the kind of day that I get home from work, put some music on, grab a scoop of ice cream from the freezer, add my favorite toppings, and sit down in my comfy chair, eating my ice cream slowly and enjoying scrolling my social media and news feeds at my leisure.

Oh. Good luck to them, then. Judges tend to have limited tolerance for that approach...

Is this the equivalent of a Captain's Mast for attorneys and judges?

There are other horrors... the old Terminal 2 at Heathrow, for example... but I hear you, and agree. Half expect Cthulhu to appear during my transit, every time...

Actually, I think I agree with you - been thinking about it on and off all day and I've made up my mind to swap it out for one of my cat I took earlier. It just doesn't sit well with me to keep using it. Love what I've seen of your art!

Cheers! Don't worry though, it's getting me to stop speaking that poses the challenge here. 😂 It's always interesting to me to see where these conversations end up.

One post would have sufficed, I agree. Thing is though, there is a certain irony in commenting against AI being used in this way when not a week ago I created an avatar in ChatGPT. *shrug*

And I like to waffle on a bit about things I am interested in. Creates good discussion if nothing else.

I am going to commission an artist in the near future to create a similar avatar using the same photo, but in their own style. When that is done I will retire this avatar. Until then, I will keep using it as a reminder to myself of how AI slop can be used to harm artists and creators. (3/3)

I am vocal about supporting artists and creators instead of AI dreck. So why do it? 1) Curiosity as to the results; 2) in order to demonstrate how easily we can be seduced by it; 3) because in order to understand why it is a problem you have to be able to speak from experience of it. (2/3)

I will also say that apart from a couple of images I created to see for myself how it works I don't intend to make a habit of it.
October 6, 2025 at 11:48 PM
For now, I will leave it. But I do intend to replace it with one hand drawn by an artist in their own style. Because it's important to support artists and their work. Having this as my avatar reminds me of the importance of this fact Because it is really easy to get seduced by AI generated art.

Yes, I know. It is AI-generated from ChatGPT using a personal picture. It's one of the reasons I have an interest in the subject. I was curious to see what would happen if I instructed ChatGPT to generate this. I have always been a Star Trek movie fan. I was unprepared for how unsettled it made me.
