0-4 and 0-3 incoming.

It really does!

Got me in the feels that.
I want to give them some money.
November 26, 2024 at 9:29 PM
Most do. It’s not a bad squad at all, but it’s some way short of landing a top 4 spot every year, and I think we overestimate some of our players.
November 26, 2024 at 7:50 PM
Yeah, I agree with all that.
Philogene must have been the attempt at replacing him, but he isn’t close to being good enough.
It sounds like I’m criticising, but it’s just where we are right now. Emery massively over delivered last season, and it’s just a shame we weren’t allowed to kick on.
November 26, 2024 at 6:16 AM
Yeah, it’s a frustrating season. To get into the UCL then have to weaken our side in preparation is almost ridiculous. The transfer window created more problems than it solved, and I’m not sure the depth is even close to being as good as everyone thinks. The starting XI is 3 players short, for me.
November 25, 2024 at 9:12 PM
Yeah, it’s fine in that regard - we don’t need to keep players who don’t want to be here, but we are missing him badly. I’ve never really understood the criticism of Luiz. He was a superb player and an ideal fit for Emerys system.

I agree with all that.
I will judge this team properly when Kamara is up and running properly again. For me it has to be Kamara and Onana with Tielemans further forward, and move Rogers back to the left, then the right hand side is the only real problem, offensively.
November 25, 2024 at 5:13 PM
The pair were just the perfect mix.
They were a superb partnership, and it did affect Dougie having to be more defensive without Kamara, yes.
November 25, 2024 at 4:51 PM
The results aren’t the issue, it’s the performances that are most concerning?
November 25, 2024 at 4:48 PM
That kind of money for Diaby will have been hard to ignore, but we need to replace him.
Dougie was class, I struggle to see how anyone think otherwise really.
We have a bigger squad, but we haven’t improved the quality, and the starting XI is weaker, for me.
Consistency in selection will be key.
November 25, 2024 at 4:40 PM
Yeah, but for very different reasons!
November 25, 2024 at 2:59 PM
Some players can do it and some can’t. It depends if Mings can do it. If we exaggerated the system like he played at Villarreal, he would be central in transitions anyway, and a back 3 of Konsa, Mings and Pau could be really strong.
November 25, 2024 at 2:43 PM
It didn’t start that well though? Results looked okay, but the performances were awful. We have lost that control we had, and every game is a basketball game. When every player is off it, there’s a bigger problem, and it seems he’s been forced to switch it up because he’s lost his technical players.
November 25, 2024 at 1:55 PM
It hasn’t gone well since he left?
Results were flattering at the start of the season, and now we are being exposed.
I don’t actually think it’s just Dougie, it’s that Dougie x Kamara pivot that was perfectly balanced, so I’m hoping that Kamara will repair some of the damage when he’s back properly.
