It’s a hotel building not a hotel. There’s 6 people in bunk beds in each room. They’re not ordering Château Lafite from room service.

At least you didn’t get the (check the prices) bit

Go with Zen. I know a lot of people in this thread have praised their customer service and that’s true- but no price rises whilst you’re in contract. I’ve been with them for years and I’m still paying £9.99 a month. And it’s rock solid.

It was a brilliant piece of work Joel, I really enjoyed it. Congrats to you and Will.

£9,948 in today’s money. So undercuts the Dacia Sandero by a good chunk but it’s more in the “I’d rather walk” zone than the Dacia.

Genuinely thought Jodie Whittaker had come to your school for a second there!

“Most of the time, the weather doesn't even seem to switch on: just a lifeless monochrome grey sludge above you, like someone forgot to complete a painting.”

That’s lovely writing - ever thought about writing a novel?

Yep, Roger Waters was a brilliant lyricist as well.

I sacked Twitter off to come on here though! I think if there’s an painless alternative, people will take it.

That’s exactly it - there are other EVs that are as good if not better than Tesla but long distance travel is so effortless in a Tesla that people will put up with a lot (including bloody Musk!)
January 2, 2025 at 7:42 PM
Yep, I know! I’d buy 2nd hand which isn’t going to help Musk move his drinks cabinet 1 mm closer to Mars. The association is troubling but where do we stop? I think Tesla is hobbled by its association with Musk - no other car company has its chief so indelibly linked with the product.

That’s a great point and one I’ve thought about a lot. I suspect “no” TBH. But where do we stop? I mean MG is literally owned by the Chinese government and the phone I’m typing on has been made there. Amazon ownership is problematic. Where do we draw the line?

Ford was founded by a massive anti-semite and VW was literally founded by the Nazi Party. BMW built aircraft engines during world war II. I’ve owned all of them. At the end of the day I’m not inviting the guy round for dinner!

Just saw Jimmy Stewart’s career-best performance in “Veritgo” - he’d never reach those dizzy heights again.

A scene I saw as a kid stayed with me for years - Jon Pertwee screaming in horror as the Tardis burnt around him. Saw it years later (“The Mind of Evil”) and it wasn’t the Tardis, the fire was faded in over the top and Pertwee was just looking a bit askance.

The past is a different country!
