We had a stellar canvass launch followed by great conversations with voters in Norfolk’s 94th District. Key issues today: taking care of our veterans, protecting Medicaid & SNAP, safeguarding reproductive rights, and supporting public education.

Early voting starts on Friday!

Our family is honored to be on the September 2025 cover of Ocean View Living! Just look at those kiddos😍

As locals know, our little corner of the world is special. Sara and I are proud to be raising our daughters here. And I’m thankful to represent and serve our community in the House of Delegates.

Here’s some fun news!

Proud to share that I was nominated & chosen as a 2025 States Project Fellow, a leadership development program convening a small group of state legislators from across the US each year. I’m headed to Philly to listen, learn, & bring back good ideas for Norfolk & Virginia!

Happy Independence Day — and cheers to all those who are engaged in the necessary, ongoing work to realize the promise of America. 🇺🇸

I was delighted to join the 20th Annual 4th of July Parade in East Beach this morning!

Thanks to Dave & Nancy King for hosting an event in East Beach yesterday in support of my reelection campaign. I’m grateful for all of my supporters! While there is great frustration about the chaos & cruelty in DC, let me tell you — Virginia is going to send a message to the nation this November!

Well that was fun! This afternoon, Sen. Angelia Williams Graves and I, along with most of the Norfolk delegation, presented a joint commending resolution to Keyshawn Davis, a Norfolk native & the current lightweight world boxing champion.

Did you know? In my first term, 4 of the 10 bills I passed into law focus on protecting our environment & helping us build a clean energy future. Thanks to the Va League of Conservation Voters for recognizing this work and presenting me with a 2025 Legislative Leadership Award!

We had nearly 100 people in attendance & we returned ~$3,000 worth of unclaimed property to Norfolk residents! Thanks to our terrific special guests & everyone who showed up last night!

Yet another reason to join our town hall this Thursday! We start at 6pm at Pretlow Library in OV.

This morning, 13NewsNow filmed a story about how I fought for (and got approved) $100k of state funding to help Titustown determine its eligibility to become a Historic District. It’s one of the oldest African American neighborhoods in Norfolk.

Story airs later this week, tune in!

Norfolk LOVES the annual Taste of India event at Chartway arena. There’s amazing food, performances, vendors, & celebrated traditions. No wonder it draws thousands of visitors from all over our region. Many thanks to the organizers for putting on this wonderful event each year!

Many thanks to all of the community members who attended the Norfolk Delegation town hall yesterday night. Public service is a team sport and I’m grateful to serve alongside truly outstanding colleagues.

Thanks so much to @vplc.bsky.social for this tremendous honor — policy work is a team sport & I’ll always fight to lift up working class families.
We're thrilled to honor @philforvirginia.bsky.social for championing economic justice in Virginia—tenant protections, tax reform, & the new Cash Now Act. Thank you for fighting for a more equitable future. #VALeg #VPLC

I'm excited to see another piece of my affordability agenda become law!

HB 2029 will help localities deliver property tax relief to seniors & people with disabilities. This builds on legislation I passed in 2024 to help expand property tax relief to more Gold Star families.

Doesn’t matter if you’re a working class family, a senior with a fixed income, a veteran, a small biz owner, or a young person starting out. This isn’t the news anyone in our economy wants to see.
