I've always thought that Jim Sidanius' and Felicia Pratto's concept of Social Dominance Orientation was a really good framework to think about this. There's been a good deal of solid, well-researched work published on this.

I've always thought that Jim Sidanius' and Felicia Pratto's concept of Social Dominance Orientation was a really good framework to think about this. There's been a good deal of solid, well-researched work published on this.
