Our small #thermometers will measure #temperature down to 55 m depth over 6 months. Precise hourly measures will contribute to understand #climatechange. Though unspectacular, these instruments are vital in advancing #science

The Gorgonian Eater

Hermodice carunculata (the fireworm), is devouring a branch of the yellow gorgonian Leptogorgia viminalis. With its powerful jaws, it can feed even on the tough skeleton of the gorgonian, leaving unmistakable traces of its passage

These “gardens” play an essential role in marine ecosystems, providing shelter for diverse marine life.

Corallium rubrum is a Mediterranean flagship species in decline due to overfishing and climate change. We developed artificial caves to run controlled experiments on growth and reproduction in semi natural conditions. Results provide crucial insights for effective restoration strategies.
