..has not been seen since. In context, the Edward Medal, being one of the rarest civilian bravery awards, is equivalent today to a George Cross! Would love to buy it back or at least see it join the other two at the NCMME. (medal shown with photo is a replica) 2/2

Understood, thanks. So presumably the termination of the Ashcroft exhibition cannot be a total surprise to Lord Ashcroft and other medal owners/lenders?

I've often wondered about the practices of donating to or loaning to a museum. If donated I assume you relinquish your ownership but, if loaned, what is your position regarding retrieval of the artifacts? Is there a contract agreement in place for such loans?
