This is the best critique of Abundance I've read. There's a lot in here that's fair.

But, many of these critiques lean on ivory tower "studies" rather than getting into the nitty gritty of individual cases. It would be more powerful to cite specific cases with people in the trenches. I'm skeptical.

Surprise! You've actually hired an artificial whistleblower.

No they're doing it wrong. AI raises the floor on what's expected. If you use AI a lot you can tell when a piece of writing was low-effort.

Because all these tools exist standing out means the work needs to be that much higher quality. As standards rise the grading curve should move higher.

The thing those statutes may be lacking is that they are not sentient and can't take physical form to enforce themselves.

The hesitance is understandable, but Dems can’t win when we’re afraid.

Both Hillary and Kamala were solidly establishment. They made risk-averse choices at key junctures, from slogans to media strategies. No vision.

AOC has no fear. AOC is anti-establishment. She’s got clear vision.

Chatting with faculty there, the problem is that there are Trumpers on Columbia's Board of Trustees. That's where pressure needs to be applied.

Just for fun, here's a shot from the other day I found amusing:

That's all, cheers!

It's going to take time for all of this to be brought up to par with what audiences generally expect, but hybrid workflows are likely the way to go in most cases for now!
March 17, 2025 at 9:58 PM
Once that is solved, you still want workflows around camera work, choosing angles, layouts, composition, etc. You also want to be able to edit locations, and other objects in the scene.

Even when you do, there is still sometimes an "uncanny" effect in live action shots, which some creators lean into for meme-y short form content, but isn't good enough for long form content. You can get decent results for AA-grade animated content though.

While building our tool to help anyone with a story get it brought to life, the biggest challenge we have by far is character consistency. Getting a character to look the same, and believable is not a trivial thing to do in AI at the moment.
March 17, 2025 at 9:58 PM
AI introduces new foundational technology into the video creation process, and so basic things still need to be built to bring it up to par with what's achievable with prior VFX, live action, and animation methods.

My mistake! Too quick to post that one.

Dammit you are correct. I shall take this down for a rewrite, ha.

I’ll be watching Q1 earnings closely to see if US policy uncertainty results in weak forward guides. That might do it.

Are you suuuure it needs to be healthy?

People worry about misaligned AI, but social media algorithms have been misaligned for some time, so here we are.

I hope we will remember this wannabe Hitler as a redux of Hoover.

Americans need to feel pain for this madness to end. Kick the shit out of us please.
