How about checking in online but then arriving at the airport to be told that your flight was canceled? That's what these two RAs dealt with to present our paper today. I'm so sorry I missed it, but I love that @liselhintz.bsky.social took a break from discussant duties to capture them in action.

Still can’t travel, so my family’s off to the in-laws and this guy and I are having a cozy writing day.

However slow and partial my recovery has been, I’m thankful to have survived a bad fall with my mental faculties intact and to have regained the ability to type.

5 weeks and two surgeries later and I'm able to do a little class prep for my one (hybrid, Zoom for now) class, "Borders, Belonging, and Rights in the MENA." It's terrific to be back, even partially and remotely. I really missed my students!

Abuse can happen in progressive activist circles, too. The use of defamation suits to silence victims by bankrupting them is abhorrent. I personally know both of the people involved and if you still have access to the bird site, I encourage you to read this thread & the linked motion to dismiss.
