I wondered what's going on, and the first confirmation I found was an in-app message (that's new), "Signal is experiencing technical difficulties. We are working hard to restore service as quickly as possible."

I don't see a way to pay the $5 annual subscription fee other than via Google Pay. Haven't found a way to register on the Web. Suggestions?
