Googling for the quote, the only search result is a page about subscribing to NBC Peacock for only $25.

Google AI suggests the quote was by Dawn Airey in the FT in 2014, linking to the source… which is not the FT and doesn't even mention Dawn Airey.

We are, as they say, cooked.

They must have edited that quote out because it's no longer there!

leavesubstack.com is useful but doesn't help with your actual question, which is something I've often wondered too, without coming to any conclusion. So I end up saying nothing.

Perhaps I’ve misunderstood but iOS 26 still has them? And it sounds like the new toggle in 26.1 is “added” rather than replacing these? (It’s still daft though, yes.)

Nice! I don’t think I was aware of that until a bit later, when my MOO days were mainly behind me.

Sorry about the Pepys downtime. A careless software update.

I wish there was a way to see more than one year at a time on those charts. Hard to get a long-term view of changes. Glad you're back on track!

And all the more weird for only being on broadcast telly pre-VCR. One's hazy memories, as a young kid, of having seen it when even younger. It became almost mythical in my mind. "Did I really see that, when I was littler?"

Their finances sound like they might be getting on track pressgazette.co.uk/media_busine...

I usually choose them first in search results, as being better than most alternatives. Each to their own.

Oh no. I'm putting off updating but I expect I'll be wondering similar when I do. I haven't tried Swinsian, but might be worth a go? swinsian.com Doppler blog looks worryingly quiet.
