Autie demon of checking your facts
Is "according to the UN" actually just the report that was submitted to the UN, that was not in any way actual research, that just cited those claims from well known anti-trans organisations?

That's not according to the UN. Not that I expected honesty from Rowling but that's transparently nonsense!

My 2017 Samsung TV also requires this. It says hold power button on remote to force a reboot but it literally doesn't work.
I am specifically going to avoid smart TVs in the future, I'd rather the smart functions in a little box next to the TV via Roku or a Google TV. Tizen was a mistake 🤕

That's a shockingly good description of the dynamic at play

It's weird how many of these same people are all about parental choice on some other matters, but then on this one they think it's okay for the government to override the choices of other parents.
It's almost like 'think of the children' arguments are never actually about the children.

Unfortunately, this is what people predicted would eventually happen like 20 years ago. :(

It sounds like there were several Republican senators that were pretty solid in their refusal to support him, so he didn't think he could get the numbers, and many wanted to see the report on him as part of the process.
He quit hoping to be able to bury the report I'd assume.

And the HRT itself, which they also claim to be dangerous yet has been pushed on intersex kids for many decades. No psych reviews, no asking the child how they feel about it, no checking if it's consistent with their gender identity at all. Informed consent models are *so* much better.

There is some actual moderation here, as opposed to the Twitter approach of unbanning the literal Nazis. Sets a bit of a different tone.

It really was a disappointing outcome. So many people misled by misinformation and a ton of 'both sides are the same' rhetoric. I mean, both sides just aren't the same on a bunch of pretty important issues. Lazy rationalisations all over.

Doesn't look like there's any reason to suspect tampering, and there sure are a *ton* of people pleased with themselves for not voting, so the figures (Trump got fewer votes than 2020, Harris just got even fewer than him) don't seem suss. Just depressing.

This is because a lot of people tend to think about disability using the social model even if they don't realise they are doing it. Vision *impairment* is not always a disability in the social sense, though it is an impairment that needs aids like glasses. Disability is *inherently* social.

Politics still exists even at the most local level, so being aware of how it's conducted, and how it's often used to manipulate outcomes is pretty important if you believe in consensus decision making.
It's not just interesting, it's *important* to understand.

Any time it's the first or last item in a list just assume it's an off-by-one bug. It's always an off by one. It's such an easy error to make and overlook later. A loop using a less-than instead of a less-than-or-equal or an index that started from 0 instead of 1 or vice versa.

Surely this is satire... *click*
It's not satire? It's NOT satire? What!?
