After my second summer working as one of the bakers at McMurdo Station I spent two weeks with my parents and younger brother in Hawaii. I don't remember which island it was, probably Maui, but we had a great time.
In the foreground, a statue of the Virgin Mary is protected by a metal frame forming a curved arch. A large crucifix is fastened to the top of the frame. Some of the dormitory buildings of McMurdo Station are visible in the middle distance. Observation Hill is partially visible behind "Mac Town". The entire scene is covered in a light dusting of snow.
