The thing is it’s impossible to square the need to pardon your family out of fear of a lawless president with the need to attend his inauguration to preserve democratic norms. If you have to do the former there no longer are democratic norms.

and you can also be lovely and kind on the phone to customer service agents and note that you know people are probably yelling at them for no reason anf to take their time: during the holidays in call center land that's like a big hug. (and take the survey and rate them all tens).
An annual reminder that as we wait in line at stores and watch shithead people aggro at minimum wage retail employees, you can be the worst part of that aggro person's day by humiliating them for acting out like a child in a public store and save a retail worker's faith in humanity in the process.
