More than 7000 flamingos were spotted today, added to many other bird species. Not in a very remote place, but in Doñana! A wonderful visit to Veta la Palma that really made me feel very happy and fortunate with this work.

Yesterday, I went back to Doñana's marshaland after almost one year. The extraordinay flooding of this spring and summer made innaccesible the area by car until now, what is a problem to replace batteries and cards of #AudioMoths. Always a luxury to work here. #BIRDeep

I'm thrilled to share with you our lattest publication with the brilliant Alba Márquez as the first author. We propose here a two-stage pipeline for analyzing audios from a acoustic monitoring programme in #Doñana; 1) using a detector of vocalizations, 2) a fine-tuned classificator. #bioacoustics

Participé este sábado en la 5ª edición del Bioblitz de la @pablodeolavide para ayudar en la identificación de plantas y polinizadores. Había una gran diversidad de especies, entre otras, la bella Ophrys apifera. Puedes ver todas las observaciones aquí: observation.org/bioblitz/176...

La #CRUE no consigue un acuerdo con la editorial #Elsevier para conseguir subvencionar las publicaciones OA de sus investigadores. Desconozco los detalles, pero imagino que Elsevier haría un acuerdo abusivo. Nos deja mal parados a los que tenemos artículos en revisión que contaban con esa ayuda.

Tuvimos un taller sobre la violencia de baja intensidad en el ámbito científico dentro de la @ebdonana.bsky.social, organizada por el Comité de Igualdad.
Salieron muchos testimonios duros, demostrando que hay muchas situaciones en las que nos sentimos incómodas en el ámbito científico.

Very proud of being part of the Equality Committee at Doñana Biological Station (CSIC). We will presenting this poster at the next meeting of all equality committees of the CSIC. During last years, we have fighted for a better and more inclusive institution, especially focused on women in science.
