If I had to guess, this might be Jeffries’ lame-ass attempt to mimic what he saw Mamdani do to Trump a week or so ago. Charm Trump, flatter him and use his easily-swayed-by-flattery nature to your own advantage. Only problem was: Trump wasn’t there, and that wasn’t flattery, it was limp surrender.

We’ve got plenty of examples of Trump being more than happy to roast and condemn “corrupt Dems” whom he considers actual Dems. Anyone think he’d be pardoning, say, Ed Markey, if he had corruption charges against him? Trump’s pardoned Cuellar because he feels Cuellar’s “on the team.” 3/

I dunno how large the crowd actually was who refused to vote for either Republicans *or* Cuomo, but also weren’t already Mamdani supporters. The D primary results list about 182K votes for Lander and the rest. Even if you take all of those, it’s only around 8.8% of total & 17% of Mamdani’s support.
