I think if we want to keep fascism at bay, we have to think that every life has some value.

Hmm, this one is a bit dishonest until GOP voters have a majority support for increased taxes. If most people are in favor of either keeping taxes as if or lowering them, it's not fair to say they want to raise them.

Well said. When people's livelihoods are at stake, you can't just disregard the need for regulation. If we're gonna have AI in our lives and jobs, and we probably are, we gotta do it responsibly in a way that doesn't leave people without a livelihood or meaningful existence.

If your society gets militarily obliterated, then it doesn't work. It needs to be able to defend itself somehow.
