Journey's soundtrack has been one of my favorite, and definitely the most impactful on my own personal journey.

It's the trigger that made me want to move to Canada, become a game dev, being a programmer for 10 years and now a game composer.

Happy birthday Austin!

Just finished Sword of the Sea!
Visuals are incredibly beautiful, gameplay so smooth you want to explore everything and ... then there's the music.

My favorite soundtrack from Austin Wintory since Journey.
And it's Austin's birthday today, please go check out his music!

Just finished Octopath Traveler (yup the 1st one, I'm only 8 years late to the party 😆).
What a beautiful, vibrant game! The HD-2D style is so well done!
The music style is equally amazing; produced like a modern orchestral score yet composed like an old-school JRPG!

The only critic I'd say is that to me the story isn't that good (and for a game about writers!), and so are the dialogues.

It allows for all sorts of crazy worlds to make sense, but it's a bit too simple and straightforward - but my expectations might be too high since I've played Clair Obscur ^^

Just finished Split Fiction with my partner and ... what a game!
Definitely not overhyped, it's as good as everybody say it is.

The gameplay is just so smooth and intuitive, each one of them must have required months of playtesting. Sometimes just for a couple minutes in game! 🤯

Interesting to note that the main composer was one of the first few person on the project, and that they've worked on the project for 5 years (mostly full time).
And they've sometimes written music before the cinematics.

Being on a project early makes a HUGE difference as a composer!

Like many people, I just finished Clair Obscur Expedition 33!

What an amazing game, it scratched an itch I didn't know I had since playing Final Fantasy X!

More than anything, I love the BOLD choices the devs did.
The gameplay? BOLD.
The music? BOLD.
The story? Also very BOLD!

Pretty much done with Dreamscaper, had a blast with it! The gameplay loop is fairly solid and the difficulty on point for my tastes.
And of course, the music. Mood and tone so on point!
Made me realize I'm on a quest to play every single game @dalenorthmusic.com has scored, and I won't back down!

Suuuuuper excited about a new milestone reached: giving a masterclass with Alithéa on music for VR and AR at @usherbrooke.bsky.social's music university!

About 25 composition students, most of them very much into film/game music and extremely down for some VR afterwards :D

Just finished Ori 2 (yeah I know I'm late to the party - I blame university for that) and what a game!
Just the right amount of platforming vs puzzle for my own taste; and the story moves at a rather quick pace which just leaves me wanting for more (and it's a very good thing IMHO)

Going to the music university today be like 😅

I have mixed feelings about music university, which I'll probably start unpacking in a couple of months when I'm done with it. However one thing it succeeded in was getting me to release music publicly.

TL;DR: I used to have an extreme fear of sharing my music with people; today the first video game I'm scoring is out as a demo.
