notre voisine du premier étage est un peu folle/conne. ça fait 10 ans déjà et elle ne s'est toujours rendue compte qu'il impossible de ne pas faire du bruit dans les immeubles anciens et qu'elle en fait bcp aussi.

the better option is just to get rid of the parking altogether. no doors, few pedestrians trying to cross through, nice gap from traffic

no like. the old school ones are sketchy because there's always pedestrians crossing through, usually to get in or out of their car. maybe if done right with sufficient gaps to avoid dooring and adaptation for people to look before they step into the lane.

add on top of that it can be really fun too. 5 years later we still roll like this but with an e-cargo bike. and it's never been difficult or impractical.

loved going slow in my 300TD. last I heard the next owner had it up to 300K miles and was still ticking just fine. this photo is from 2007 so was still 25 years old at that point. Redid the rear accumulators and drove like a dream over speed bumps

My brother and I had the Star Wars and Superman boxes guessing circa 1978-1982 or so. amazingly my mom kept them around for all this time.

The Luxembourg Gardens used to have all of the below (on steroids) and this : the most awesome zip line which required the kids to be at least 7 years old. not sure I ever saw a kid that old on them. more in the alt-text

That last Paris Vespasienne, intended to limit public urination, located on boulevard Arago in front of Paris' only prison, de la Santé. It's no longer available for use, but an interesting piece of history that will likely remain and be maintained for the foreseeable future.

thanks, you're too kind. my wife sometimes thinks otherwise 😉. It's a Weber hitch. They sell several different models to fit various bikes. The Tern GSD has a dedicated mount point and won't work with the axle style mount. On my Yuba the axle mount works perfectly.

my kids are a bit older and they're into road bikes now. It's not safe for them to ride to the Paris Hippodrome, so I found some car roof rack equipment that would work and built my own on top of my #carryshitolympics trailer.
