i really truly cannot stand the trend of CoNtEnT cReAtOrS holding lavalier microphones instead of clipping them on. if you want to hold your microphone that’s fine, but why not simply get a mic that’s designed to be used that way???

trans people are so fucking admirable man. like there are a bunch of things in my life that i'd like to change that would be way easier to change than my whole ass GENDER, but i don't do it. trans people just go for it. they whole-ass gender. it's so sick

most of the sound effects i use come from a library, but it is very satisfying when i occasionally need something super specific that i can't find but am able to record perfectly myself. most recently this was the sound of a glass jar of honey being opened. very tingly sound.

there’s not much that gives me more second-hand embarrassment than that particular personality type that’s prone to contrarianism, intellectual snobbery, cultural elitism etc. makes my skin crawl

i have just finished reading the Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb and it is really really good. BIG recommend. it took me most of the first book to really get into it, because it was completely different than what i was expecting, but i’m glad i stuck with it

the answer to my audio woes was 32-bit float recording. can’t believe i didn’t try this sooner. there is practically infinite headroom compared to the traditional 24-bit. this is fantastic

i am once again unsatified with my audio quality. i am constantly chasing some idea of perfection that i don't even know exists, but i know for sure i am not anywhere near there yet. all my stuff is too loud, and my workflow cannot handle higher dynamic ranges at all. i want to do things properly.

i don't like idioms in general. they are sometimes useful for conveying thoughts to others, but most of the time they get in the way of critical thinking. "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" is an especially bad one. why not? it is good to hone and perfect things after getting to a "good enough" state
