Not that we should give him the benefit of the doubt, but it seems the 3 trillion number is probably including all the made-up "investments" that were promised by South Korea, etc. to get lower tariff rates.

Sure there is administrative bloat, but a lot is responsive to legal requirements around student aid, grants, and meddling from state legislatures & Feds. It turns into tuition increases.

In many (esp red) states, the state govt pulled back hard during the Great Recession and never returned to the prior level of investment. A lot of state schools have high tuition and crap infrastructure. Renovations don’t happen; new buildings get donated by billionaire alums.

What’s funny is that in my case, I mailed my ballot two miles away from the election office. Literal Snail 🐌 Mail could have covered the distance seven times over between me putting it in the box and Election Day.

Not in my state. And my ballot, mailed well in advance, was lost for almost a month and never counted.

My 2024 ballot was mailed in (from a reliably democratic mailbox) weeks before election day, and was not counted because it sat in Post Office Purgatory until 10 days too late.
Just imagine the chaos a motivated mail carrier with a special "slow" bag for outgoing ballots from a certain zip code.
