all done! this kit was a fun and satisfying pattern to do #embroidery
A finished embroidery in a hoop on tan fabric. The embroidery is all done in chain and straight stitch, and it's an image of 6 brown and white birds on blue-green fir branches.

#embroidery updates:
complaining about the French knot trees made project #1 interesting again, and I finished it! (a little lopsided but that's ok)

and making progress on project kit #2 of winter birds 🐦🌲
a finished embroidery project in a wooden hoop. The left half of the circle is an overhead view of autumn colored trees done with French knots. The right half of the circle is a back stitched cityscape of NYC in black thread on white fabric. An in-progress embroidery project on tan fabric in a wooden hoop. Most of the hoop is a stenciled outline of birds and branches. The bottom-right 1/3 is done, with fir branches in dark and medium teal, and a brown and white small bird. Almost all the stitches are chain stitch, with some straight stitch here and there for details.

A mostly finished embroidery on a hoop. The right half is a minimalist cityscape of NYC back stitched in black thread on white cotton fabric. The left half is a cluster of trees made from small French knots in multiple shades of green, orange, and red made to look like autumn in central park. There are several bare spots among the trees

New project
Embroidery kit supplies laid out. There's a tan cotton fabric in an embroidery hoop with a pattern outline of birds and fir branches drawn on it. Beside the hoop are 6 colors of embroidery thread laid out on top of a guidebook for the pattern. The thread colors are 3 shades of brown (dark to light) and 3 shades of teal. There's a pair of tiny gold scissors shaped like a bird on top of the threads.

New accessory making the commute so much better
