That’s why it’s so important for UofT and other Canadian universities in general to do more to preserve and support Canadian talent before it slips away. #JustAThought

But let’s be honest, are brilliant American scientists really going to leave the resources and recognition they already have to come to UofT? Obviously not.

It says a lot about how limited Canadian institutions can be when they can’t hold on to their own top talent, and now they’re turning to American scientists instead.

So Ilya and Geoffrey ended up moving to San Francisco because UofT just couldn’t hold onto their talent. Kind of a sad outcome for Canadian scientists, honestly.
