On Dokomi day 3 we took our time at the con halls, we didn't visit the park. Cosplaying Link Click with @moonmoux.bsky.social was so much fun! We managed to take a few photos together and attended our first meet in years. Also shopping. Lots of shopping 💸💸 And Indian food! Goan prawns were great 🤤

ALSO when we went back to the hotel we ordered pizza and while waiting in the hotel lobby we saw two AMAZING Kuroshitsuji cosplayers!! Running into cosplayers from my favorite series just like that was the best, I just HAD to take a photo! Aren't they gorgeous??

Pizza was delicious btw 😌👌

Day 2 of Dokomi was Final Fantasy VII day! The first time wearing my Zack Fair cosplay and I'm actually very happy with it!! Getting to cosplay together with @imagine-mirage.bsky.social was a BLAST and we managed to book a shoot with @patrick_ulr (Insta). We also met a lovely Zack & Aerith couple!

Day 1 of Dokomi was Persona 3 day with @lemonadocandy.bsky.social as the LOVELY Mitsuru! We had an amazing photoshoot with @dizzymonogatari.bsky.social and the previews on the LCD already looked incredible. Later that day @moonmoux.bsky.social was so kind to take meme photos of us 🤣

Day 0 of Dokomi was Xiao time! Had a fantastic cosplay photoshoot at the Ekō Haus and then joined my friends to do some shopping in Düsseldorf. Ended the day with some great food. I had the Oyako-sara which was delicious 🔥

All that was left, was add silver details. Quickly cut some small pieces of 2mm foam, heat-shaped with chopsticks to bend and look like ribbon sticking through a hole. Added patterns, rubbed silver wax on it and glued it onto the armor, outlining it. Then waxed the rest of the armor.

All done! ✨️

On to the fun part: painting! First a black layer, mostly for the silver wax I'll add at the end. The armor was then sprayed with a brown rust effect paint for a slight bit of texture. Went in with sandpaper to create weathering between layers and added 4 washes of black before varnishing 🙏

Layering the foam details! One long and thin strip of 5mm foam, rounded with a dremel. Also punched 40 circles with the hole puncher from 2mm low density foam. Cutting and glueing all those pieces took forever but I love the depth of it!

Primed everything one last time 💪

Assembled the collar piece and went in with the heat gun one more time, letting it cool on a round surface to hold its shape. Lots of dremeling, followed by endless priming and sanding. If you end up doing this at one point, be sure to use a primer that's flexible. I forgot, so gotta be careful 🥲

Started out with the pattern on cardboard to make sure I'd have the right size, then moved on to 5mm high density EVA foam an cut all pieces. Glued all darts of the main body together and used a heat gun to get a rounder shape.
