Haven't tried your app yet, but it looks promising.
I've been still using a very old program called PixelFormer (www.qualibyte.com/pixelformer) to create/edit ICO files. Basically just import a bunch of PNG files as layers, resize, and then export it as ICO format. Super quick, super easy.
