I’m making progress, slowly… why did Philips (or was it made by Marantz in Japan?) use so much cables? It would probably have been cheaper and safer to use ribbon cables for connecting the PCB’s. Lots of cables are used for power distribution, mixing them will probably result in damaged components

2,5 years ago I bought a Philips DFA888, it looked mint but the inside was very dirty and sticky. So I cleaned it and stored the parts. This week I found the parts and decided it’s time to restore it. I made lots of pictures but damn, there is a bunch of cables in there and the SM has faults in it🫣

Ik mis de “electronica winkels” van vroeger. Nu moet je bestellen, dat duurt soms vrij lang, hebt verzendkosten die hoger liggen dan de componenten zelf en in de tussentijd staan die apparaten gedemonteerd te wachten. Daarom maar besloten een voorraadje aan te leggen.
