It's not native grassland, but it didn't have buildings or roads which is all I meant. Much of the area north of SkPoly is technically already UofR lands.

It's far from everything and the area was unserviced. There are so many infill places that it could have gone instead. Also, those lands have been removed from the master plan to facilitate this project. (IMO, the master plan has too much development in the park and not enough natural space.)

It's a bizarre project to me unless there are plans for the Wascana South area beyond the new care home (which should never have been there.)

I worry that this will end up like past budgets. They argue about tiny details for hours and then, hours later, when everyone is fed up and tired, someone will introduce some giant terrible change and it will be passed with no discussion just to get things over with.

The place I work is doing a major infrastructure renewal and one of our vendors told us to anticipate massive increases in RAM prices in the near term. If you need to replace your laptop, the sooner the better.

It's my least favorite part of walking to warehouse. It also used to be among the top for vehicle collisions, but seems to have fallen off the list. I believe the Sask Dr. plan is supposed to consider more than cars, but who knows when that will happen.

Cool! I didn't know about that. I have only seen the normal exhibit.
December 3, 2025 at 5:35 PM
The cloisters still has that exhibit. It's part of their permanent collection and they are the originals. I've been there a couple of times. It's a bit of a hidden gem in my opinion.

I use that in part to minimize notifications, but really I think there should just be 3 categories: primary, things you can deal with later, things you should probably unsubscribe from.

Compared to some of their past surveys (catalyst, Scarth st) this one seemed to have less of an agenda, but maybe it depends on how you answer things.

I think he was talking about the manufactured homes zoning change which doesn't cost the city anything. It does provoke a lot of NIMBY angst though.

The fire was 2 years ago, so it's a bit odd that this is only coming up now. When is that report about taxes on vacant lots coming?

I wouldn't put much faith in the BID.
November 13, 2025 at 3:13 AM
Actually, yes. While the downtown project has been a mess, they have a lot of other smaller projects.

I think the bigger problem than a physical building is staffing. Saskatchewan (and Canada in general) does not have enough health care workers and seems unwilling to invest in training more.

They were complaining about replacing the vape shop with 4 story apartment building. 🤬

When it comes to affordability, I don't think it's much different than the rest of Regina, but that's not saying much.
October 25, 2025 at 11:57 PM
As of 2018 cars are banned from Central Park, so I'd be tempted to go even further, but no one is going to put me in charge of the park. 🤣
October 22, 2025 at 6:44 AM
The majority are fine, but I have had too many close encounters with cyclists going too fast in Wascana. Turning a car lane into a bike lane there would fix that.

Motorcycles that people feel entitled to drive at 50 km/h on bike paths.

Also, I generally find entering the US to be worse than entering Canada (or really anywhere else).
October 12, 2025 at 1:12 AM
My last two trips have been like that. I assumed it was because I used the apps to fill in the forms. Based on my other trips, I'd suggest the following helps: clear customs in busier crossings, pre-clear US customs in Canada, no food, be older.

I went to the Masterplan last night. Between that and reading your council tweets, I may have exceeded my local politics limit. 😂
