Gun violence is never a good thing. Some of us have been trying to get that point across for a long time. I just wish there was this much outrage on the right over this afternoon's school shooting, or Uvalde, or Sandy Hook, etc., as there is over the man who said this.

Rare video game review from me (Thank Goodness You're Here!):

I don't expect to become a serious collector again anytime soon, but I bought this at a card store today & completed a personal childhood odyssey.

Took me longer than I care to admit to finally read this banger by @caimhmc.bsky.social. Loved it so much. I try to infuse my own work w/ humor, but blown away by how many laughs he stuffs into his great story. My wife & kids kept asking me what was so funny because I cackled thru the whole thing.

Ryne Sandberg was a Powder Blue Nostalgia favorite from the first afternoon game I ever watched on WGN in 1986. Fortunately, I got to watch a whole lot more over the years. Thanks for all the amazing memories, Ryno!

A lot of things have been said about Hulk Hogan today, and I only have one point to add:

Randy Savage was way better.

Continuing my quest to watch movies that I somehow missed with Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. This one was right up my alley, & the fact that it reminded me of @jordanharper.bsky.social's Everybody Knows didn’t hurt either. It has a much more comedic tone than Harper’s book, but nothing wrong with that. 1/3

It's impossible to turn to Night of the Hunter on TCM and then change the channel. Mitchum is so good. But GD if Pearl ain't the most dim-witted kid in cinema history. Helluva singing voice though. LOL.

In the last 2 weeks, I read the latest novels from @jordanharper.bsky.social & @blacktopkid.bsky.social. As a crime fiction writer, both inspiring and intimidating. As a reader, nothing but perfection.

Took me longer than I liked, but I finally got to @blacktopkid.bsky.social's latest. Worth the wait, and the perfect late birthday gift. It wrecked me in the best way.

I've been trying to watch quality movies that have slipped through the cracks for me, for one reason or another. Last night, I knocked out Thief. Holy hell, what a flick. I knew it was Michael Mann, but even so, it exceeded my high expectations.

Watched The In-Laws for the first time tonight. Peter Falk is brilliant, & I don't wanna be that guy, but man, I wish they still made more movies like it. Not saying good flicks aren't still being made, but it just ain't the same. Plus, I wasn't even around for it, but the 70s look so good on film.

#HEYHETHEYHEY Fun day at the K, even though hits were at a premium today.

At the K for Moose's retirement ceremony! Go #Royals

My reaction to the pope's death. FWIW.

Two very entertaining medieval history books for those who are so inclined. One on a subject I was very familiar with, the other less so, but they overlap nicely.

Oscar and I decided it was such a beautiful day, we might as well head to the K for a Royals game!

Every time I see a story about the first millennial saint, I get nothing but Doug from The Good Place vibes.

I tweaked this for my 15 year old son.

Yeah, the world sucks right now, but we watched the new Wallace & Gromit tonight, and it doesn't. Fun flick, though I'm probably going to be seeing this hilarious guy in both my dreams & nightmares.

Bold #springtraining prediction #2: Jose Canseco won't lead the Cactus League in home runs.
However, if you like reading about an era when that was more likely to happen, connect with Powder Blue Nostalgia and feel free to leave your own hot takes. #MLB #baseball

Bold spring training prediction #1: Bret Saberhagen will not break camp with the Royals.
Probably won't get much pushback on that one, but if you like reading about guys like Sabes, check out Powder Blue Nostalgia. Or leave your own spring training predictions.
