Over the subsequent years, I came to understand they are what I call Matthew 25 (Whatsoever you do the least of these) & Luke 10 (Good Samaritan) Christians. Both gave much and didn't ask for anything in return.

Something I need to say: President Jimmy Carter and my father were but five months apart in age and shared so many of the experiences of their time. When I worked on Jimmy Carter's campaign in 1976, I was struck by how much they were alike.
