I’ve seen that video. Those are not tanks. Massive difference. Not even close. It’s not even the nitpicky “AR doesn’t stand for assault rifle.” They’re nowhere near tanks.

Dupont Circle is about 8 blocks away and a different neighborhood. The news only used it because people outside DC don’t know Logan Circle. Which is the same reason Feds are performatively marching around Georgetown. Oh, median house price in Logan Circle is $765,000.

I think they weren’t looking to steal a car. They were bored on a summer night like U.S. teenagers have been forever, came across Big Balls & one of the idiots trying to impress either the girl (girls?) or each other started talking about the car and it escalated from there.

The police were already patrolling the area. And if there was a group of teens out at 3 AM, that makes it all the more likely that someone had reported that and the cops were on the lookout.
Probably not as big as a group of 10, but they could have taken the Metro over there.

One of the two arrested ON THE SPOT was a 15-year-old girl from Maryland.
The teens were unarmed.
