The desire to blame and shame students (and to some extent faculty) for a system they do not control is just obscene. Are some Harvard undergrads entitled assholes? Ime, yeah, but most of them are exhausted, scared, and have been brainwashed most of their lives

With all due respect, I think you are really underestimating the Mariners' talent for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. You don't end up the only team without a WS appearance by obeying the ordinary laws of superstition.
