When the sandy stuff is aeolian sand -from the Dryas- on top of a layer containing gravel, on top of a layer that contains sherds from possibly the early Iron Age…

So after 4 hrs the sand is a secondary deposit, the gravel is from a nearby Roman road & archaeology is great fun. But complicated.
