Strategic advocacy, land use politics and survey research when not consuming news and exuding sarcasm.
They are not here to negotiate or suggest improvements. The goal is to obstruct, delay and destroy.

You have tpo be ready for them. They show up at virtually every public hearing. No surprises & the strategy for dealing with each is different.

The idea that "We have a great project and it will win approval based on merit" is dangerous. Developers who ignore the politics are shocked when their projects go down in flames. bit.ly/LandUsePolitics

Are we trying to convince and move an official or are we providing political cover to allow them to vote the way they want to? The strategies are very different - you need enough data to know where you stand. Mastering Land Use Politics a.co/d/5oiX1Z1

The neighbors have a lawyer, experts, peer review studies and keep moving the goal posts when discussing mitigation? Your community benefits package will never be enough. Mastering Land Use Politics a.co/d/5oiX1Z1
