Hundredth movie was tonight. A short film by Conner O’Malley (@thepoduniverse.com‘s recent guest pitch with Branson Reese sent me down a complete rabbit hole of this artist’s work). It just hit how unhinged my “milestones” have been. Can I make it to 150? What tf will next year entail?

Saw #Smurfs

Wow. I’ve seen many movies this year. Probably the most I’ve seen my whole life. This was certainly something I’ve seen in a movie theater. Of all the movies that came out in July, this one was one of them

Animation was okay except on Gargamel

And last but certainly not least, after finishing the first 3 Daredevil Omnis, I’ve jumped to “Spider-Man 2099,” in memory of Peter David. I’ve owned this omnibus for a few years now and never read it. Fun cyberpunky stories and Miguel is so unserious. I love the worldbuilding and Lyla.

Upon finishing “The Valiant” I started this (I checked out a ton of books from my library), “Doctor Strange: Damnation” an arc in which Strange faces Mephisto and must team up with a new Midnight Suns to defeat the evil.

I’m only an issue in but I like what there is. Never read Strange before this

Prose-wise, I’m reading “The Buffalo Hunter Hunter” by Stephen Graham Jones. Epistolary, the novel calls back to horror books such as “Dracula,” and it’s a great read. I have to take it in bites, because it’s so well written I want to savor each moment.

I’ve also been reading the classic collection of X-O Manowar through Hoopla (this collects issues 0-9, support your local library, get a card)

This is so silly, I love it. Conan meets Space. I love when he blows up a house because it’s “house broken.” Just genuinely ridiculous

Here are some thoughts on *what* I’m reading:

This morning I finished “The Valiant” by Jeff Lemire and Matt Kindt with art by Paolo Rivera. I’ve been on a dive into Valiant lately and though I enjoyed this, it certainly didn’t feel like a “Team Up” book if that’s what it was, more an Event comic

The sidewinder of Lorem ipsum. You know, I’ve also seen the dolor sit amet in the consectetur area.

Love watching White Lotus and I see the largest (insect? Symbiote? Spider?) I’ve ever seen

I’ve been planning this for a while now, and my TBR is fully caught up. It’s time to begin:

Daredevil. Starting from issue 1. I have collected all omnibuses related to the character, so that I may have the full image of one of my favorite superheroes.

I am ready to think about the man w/o fear
