Our group reviews GWAS of hair traits, generating a single resource of genes that exert clinically relevant effects on human HFs. This knowledge will help to translate mechanistic knowledge about hair follicles that has been generated from animal models.

New research from the Zamponi Lab! They've identified a novel USP5 mutation linked to pain insensitivity. Their study, using a CRISPR knock-in mouse model, reveals R24W USP5 as a dominant-negative regulator of Cav3.2 channels, leading to reduced pain. rupress.org/jem/article/...
