As an introvert, I was terrified of public speaking. Then, I took a stand-up comedy workshop and performed at three open mics. After that, public speaking felt easy. Stand-up comedy is the ultimate challenge. Stepping out of my comfort zone really paid off.

I imagine the Internet is gradually filling up with AI generated, bloated code. AI is trained off that. The cycle continues. I wonder if simplicity should be somehow ingrained in the models and the agents.

Imagine an AI coding agent, designed with the goal to help you learn. Not with the goal of making you 10x productive. But with the goal of making you learn at 10x speed. Learn fast, brew software slowly. 🤔

Saw @dhh discuss omarchy.org and felt envious, but I'm sticking with macOS for now. I found Amethyst, a higher-level tiling window manager. Liking it, though it takes some getting used to. Mostly makes sense if you have some screen real estate.

We held Elixir.Greece.thessaloniki/1 after Athens. We had three speakers, curious attendees, fresh pizzas, beers, and stickers. The Greek Elixir community is growing and most importantly having fun!

I see a future where a non-developer opens an issue with requirements about a new feature. Clicks a button on GitHub. AI opens a PR with an implementation and adds a developers for a review. The developer starts flipping tables, and implements the feature from scratch.

Started experimenting on a @zed.dev debugger extension to support Elixir debugging. Is ElixirLS really the only option for a DAP compatible solution? Would it make sense to have that in the Elixir community or do most use other means for debugging? #MyElixirStatus #GreeceElixir

I believe or hope, @apple is brewing something slowly. It seems they lost their mojo. But they may surprise us at some point. We may have an event at some point that matches or surpasses the original announcement of the iPhone.

In the past, I was in reactive mode. That didn't serve me well. I learned to either be proactive or sleep on it before I react in a certain way. It's not easy. It's hard. But it's almost always better. Unless a bear chases you, sleep on it.

How I do software estimates? I read the requirements someone gave me after talking to a person from the customer that's not the one that will be using the system. I smell the air. I smell my dog's ass. The scent combination determines story points. I then add 20% on top of that.

I want to create a TV reality show, but this time it's going to be programmers trying to land a job. I mean, that'd be the ultimate prize. During the show, they will have to go through various challenges and get eliminated one by one. 🧵

In 2007, I became a Software Development Director at ITS in Thessaloniki, Greece, my last Greek company before joining GitHub in 2010. ITS allowed me to refine the software development lifecycle, based on my beliefs and learnings at the time. #nostalgia
