Yes more research needs to be done. But it's much harder to identify and prove subtle but significant long term effects than short term effects.

More research needs to be conducted, for sure.

The fact microplastics show up in brain tissue is certainly concerning.

Plenty of substances are toxic at levels way below 1%, so saying it's "just <1-5%" doesn't really mean anything.

I think they'd go for "make love, not war" and we'd end up with bird chicks with antlers.
