“I love your drawings!” an artist can peel themselves off the bottom of the mattress and live another day just for this one sentence (personal experience)

are there RPGs that allow you to (frequently) build your characters backstory through dialogue options AS YOU PLAY?

like an NPC asks you "hows your parents" and you can say
"they're fine" or
"I never knew them" or
"they died"
and then the game remembers and brings it up later

I feel that'd be cool

One thing that changed me forever is the realization "anyone can draw". I used to think you had to be special to make art. I'd doodle stuff but never thought it was possible for me to get better. Talent is often thrown around towards artists when actually its hard work and commitment to the craft
